New laws have made most legal immigrants eligible for food stamps. The general rule now is that almost all legal immigrants are eligible for food stamps once they have been in the U.
To be eligible, an immigrant must qualify to get food stamps. Some qualified immigrants are eligible right away. How can I apply for food stamps?
