He was a classically trained pianist; the chords you hear on 'The Last Resort' and on 'Desperado' — that's him playing the piano. He wrote those chords. Henley probably wrote the bulk of the lyrics, but that's Glenn. He was a brilliant pianist, classically trained since he was a very young kid. He was laughs a joy to be around. I looked forward to seein' him — I didn't see him all that much over the last 50 years, 'cause he was busy, I was busy, but when I did, it was memorable laughs , 'cause he had an amazing sense of humor, and just whip smart.

Whip smart. And I don't know how you quantify songwriting, but if you do it on the dollars and cents scale — he's one of the most successful songwriters that ever lived. That was his nickname — 'The Lone Arranger. Otis is his youngest kid, y'know, years-old. We would always get together whenever he came to Detroit. He was. He was a good kid. He was a really good kid. I never thought I'd outlive him.

Do not reduce Glenn Frey importance to the Eagles. He was the founding member and co-wrote most of their songs. His voice would bring tears to your eyes or a smile to your lips.

He was my favorite singer with the Eagles. He chose not to sing on a lot of songs and gave band mates a chance to shine. No one could forget his vocals they came from his heart. The world is a much more lonely place without his talent. The World is sad with your passing Glen Frey. You and your music will live on Forever. I knew you were a talent from the get. His first solo album was released in , titled "No Fun Aloud" and insinuating that no fun was allowed while he was in the Eagles.
