As Kingdom Hearts grew in both story and scope, digressing into many multimedia spin-offs , it also began to introduce fans to an ever-expanding roster of new characters. One individual who quickly rose to stardom is franchise protagonist Sora's other: Roxas.
While the two share a kinship in heart and body, they couldn't be more different as leading characters. When compared to his Nobody, Sora holds a distinct advantage of having a much longer run in the franchise. After all, he's the lead and sole playable character in the franchise's original game. The Sora of the first Kingdom Hearts is one of the franchise's strongest depictions of the spiky-haired boy.
The young keyblade wielder works as the optimal vehicle to mirror the emotions of players as they interact with popular icons like Aladdin, Jack Skellington, and Peter Pan that defined the childhoods of multiple generations. As Sora's opposite, Roxas takes a completely different approach when it comes to visiting new worlds. Where Sora barges headfirst into the thick of it when first arriving in a world, Roxas adopts a more cautious and calculated approach. Following the Organization's directives, No.
XIII prefers to observe how events in the world unfold from the shadows. Released solely on the Nintendo DS in , Days offers fans something they hadn't seen before in a Kingdom Hearts game: a new perspective.
As a member of the villainous Organization XIII, lead by the Nobody of franchise antagonist Xehanort , players are given insight into some of the franchise's most memorable antagonists through Roxas' eyes. One of Sora's most distinct qualities is his undying need to befriend almost every person he comes across while trekking across the Ocean Between.
While it definitely feels like Sora's need to be a people pleaser becomes incessant in later titles, the trait also gives developers Square Enix a convenient excuse for him to travel to the number of worlds he does and meet new people.
Sora's gung-ho personality also seems to be infectious, speaking to the strength of his character as a protagonist. When Kairi suggests in Kingdom Hearts 0. One of Sora's strengths is his infallible conviction in his beliefs—it's a rare trait that typically makes for unrelatable storytelling. It just hasn't been explained. Also, when Roxas threw one of his keyblades at Riku, Riku had the ability to wield it. Now tell me when did Riku come into contact with Ven's heart?
I'm just sayin' that you can't make these assumptions and expect to be taken seriously. Also the difference between the difficulties Sora went through and the ones Roxas went through is that everything worked out ok for Sora. Sora stabbed himself with a goofy smile on his face and was revived minutes later. Roxas cried while holding his best friend in his arms as she disapeared.
I'm sorry, but I'm sure that other people agree that Roxas takes the cake for a rough time. You are kidding me right? You are the only one making assumptions. This was all confirmed by Nomura himself. And so Roxas, who is a part of Sora, was affected by that and looks just like Ventus.
This doesn't get any clearer then this. Roxas who is literally Sora's body was affected by Ventus's heart. Since the heart shapes the vessel Sora's body was molded to look like Ventus as his heart remained in Sora's body.
Had Ven's heart not been present Roxas would have looked like Sora not Ven. This further emulates the point about the location of Ven's heart. Roxas's fainted because Ven's heart was so close to his body, and Roxas Sora's Body was so close to his heart. Had Ven's heart not been within Roxas he woud not be included in Roxas's true selves. As Roxas is a part of Sora, he also can use two. In Days Roxas awakened his ability to dual wield after fighting Xion.
Again if Roxas did not have Ven's heart he would have no means to access Ven's keyblade. So strictly speaking, they are being influenced by Sora. Also yes they did take turns wielding Sora's keyblade until Sora was put to sleep by Namine. CoM and Days intersect during this time and Sora was wielding his keyblade yet Roxas also was wielding Sora's keyblade during the exact same time. This was also confimed by Nomura Also Riku could hold others keyblades bc all wielders can hold each others as we witnessed with Riku and Sora in the final battle with Xemnas in Kh2 and Aqua using Eraqus' keyblade.
Maybe you should take some of your own advice if you want to be taken seriously. Thanks guys! I learn more about KH every day. So I think now that they are actually quite equal, since they basically attain each other's abilities. Stats-wise, I think Roxas's LV multiplier panels in Days represent how quickly he is "remembering" in a way how to use a keyblade like Sora.
No that is wrong. Its been stated by Diz that Roxas has always held only half of Sora's power, even after he absorbed Xion. They did seem evenly matched when they fought in Deep Dive, but Sora managed to defeat Roxas. You know, Roxas has ties to Sora and Ventus too, they're the whole reason he can wield the keyblade in the first place.
And besides Ventus's heart is the reason Roxas has feelings too. I mean, Sora was his past life, despite the fact that they Co-Existed for a time.
No matter how you look at it, Roxas will always be part of Sora and can be considered to be him too. I think they are just as strong. They use different fighting styles, so it all depends on the enviroment and luck. Roxas has much larger range on his attacks, but he could be in a trouble if he was forced to fight on a room with little space.
When they fought, Roxas had the advantage, since the area was large enough for him to use some of his AOE type attacks, but Sora got lucky. If the room would've been smaller, and filled with pillars and objects, Sora would've won without almost losing the fight.
Of course Roxas could've been lucky as well. I think Sora is a bit more experienced than Roxas. You can post now and register later. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account. Not for things or talent but for who they are!
Though I do think Roxas is cuter. Soralover15 said: I think sora is better because he is cute and sexy. Roxas posted over a year ago.
He's not even remotely sexy Hiding 3 comments I agree with you but don't I think he's cute. Sora is NOT hotter than Roxas! And this is coming from a girl who doesn't really like either Roxas or Sora! Niichan posted over a year ago. PapouFruitGirly said: I luv Roxas sooooo much!
It's sad though that he doesn't like 2 be a nobody even though he acts like a somebody and that Jesse Mcartney has to be his voice actor Roxas has no sense of humor and isnt lively. Soras way better! MasterRed posted over a year ago. I like roxas a little but not as much as sora! And heres a question for you people: who do you like better sora kairi or king mickey?
I like Kairi better! I think sora and mickey are equel because they both weiled keyblades megaman posted over a year ago. Sora is really cool. Kairi is a cool character and mickey is really powerfull he helped me beat Xaldian who was a pain for me to beat! Sora can too. But for a limited time in his forms so SoraXVentus posted over a year ago. Sora is awesome because everytime you level up his drive forms you can get their abilites, and plus, Sora's master form is awesome.
But roxas is cool because he can naturally wield two keyblades, and doesn't have to worry about having people to give him that power. By the way, there is an emulator that allows you to play as Roxas throughout kingdom hearts II, but when you activate drive forms, it goes back to sora.
How'd you figure that out? I want to try! Fenrir said: I personally like Roxas better myself. I mean think about it.
He's a nobody
