They're all strong, but also a little weird. A reporter believes he has found a hidden message in All Might's retirement announcement and heads to UA High School to investigate. Overhaul goes to the League of Villains with a proposal that doesn't sit well with Shigaraki. Meanwhile, Izuku searches for a hero internship. After making a poor first impression on Sir Nighteye, Izuku must battle with his potential boss in order to receive his seal of approval — literally.
While out on patrol, Izuku and Mirio encounter a frightened young girl. As Izuku tries to help her, a man in a beaked mask steps out of the shadows. Assigned to work with one of UA's Big Three and a pro hero, Eijiro gets a chance to show off his Quirk when a routine patrol turns violent. Sir Nighteye gathers the internship students and a group of pro heroes for a meeting to discuss the growing threat of Overhaul and his organization. After the meeting with Sir Nighteye, Izuku can think of nothing but saving Eri.
He loses focus at school, worrying his friends and classmates. After infiltrating Overhaul's base, Izuku and the other heroes encounter one of the Eight Bullets, whose Quirk lets him manipulate the walls. While attempting to save Aizawa, Eijiro and Fat Gum become separated from their group and trapped in a room with two more of the Eight Bullets. Fat Gum listens to the ramblings of Eight Bullets member Rappa. Meanwhile, Izuku's group searches for a way out of the Quirk they are trapped in.
Izuku and the other heroes get an unexpected helping hand in their fight with Irinaka as their enemies begin to turn against each other. After catching up to Mirio, Izuku and the others trade blows with Overhaul. Cornered, Overhaul uses one of his subordinates to power up. Ryukyu's team continues to lock horns with a Quirk-enhanced Eight Bullets member. Izuku unleashes his power to hold off Overhaul and save Eri.
Eri loses control of her Quirk, nearly taking Izuku with her. Later, despite betraying Overhaul, the League of Villains move to retrieve him.
Izuku and the interns return to school and try to resume their normal lives, but many of them still struggle to process the recent events. In their provisional hero license exam class, Bakugo, Shoto and Inasa receive a daunting special task: win the hearts of young schoolkids. Taken aback by the rowdy school kids' unusually powerful Quirks, Shoto and the others must find a way to win them over and stay in one piece.
The students of Class 1-A discuss what to do for the school festival. Kaminari suggests that Jiro lead a band, but she is oddly hostile to the idea. Class 1-A assigns roles for the band and discovers some surprising talent. Meanwhile, Gentle Criminal and his partner La Brava form a new plan. As preparations for the school festival get underway across the UA campus, Izuku shows a surprise visitor around and introduces her to the students.
On the day of the festival, Izuku goes for some last-minute shopping. On his way back, he meets a disguised pair of villains with a dastardly plan. With only a few minutes left before the UA school festival kicks off, Izuku fights to stop Gentle and La Brava from crashing the party.
With mere minutes to spare, Izuku hurries to make it to the school festival and join his class's performance. Mirio and Eri watch from the crowd. Later, the first pro hero ranking since All Might's retirement is announced. Endeavor's family watches anxiously as he clashes with a mysterious beast, but his strength alone proves no match for its powers of regeneration. Class 1-A is assigned a disaster rescue drill in an underground mall. With little oxygen and the threat of falling debris, time is of the essence.
After Izuku's team makes it back to the surface, Bakugo inadvertently causes his team to become trapped underground as water rises around them. Who will emerge victorious? In response to an emergency training drill, Class 1-A deploys to the site of a Villain attack. The students use their Quirks to survey the situation. Hawks feels conflicted about his mission to infiltrate the League of Villains.
Endeavor leaves the hospital and visits his estranged family. Later, Classes 1-A and 1-B take part in a joint battle drill. Shinso uses his Quirk on Shishida but it only gives Class 1-A a temporary advantage. The battle continues with three members left on each side. The students of each class discuss their first-round performance.
Fumikage and Kuroiro begin the second match by displaying their shadowy skills. Yaoyorozu gets separated from her team due to Kinoko's mushrooms and Manga's comical Quirk. Kendo tries to overwhelm her with a flurry of punches. Between matches, All Might tells Izuku to be careful of Shinso. Before the third battle, Shoto feels the pressure, and Tetsutetsu steels himself.
Having forced his opponent to retreat, Iida speeds off to help Ojiro fight Sen. Meanwhile, Tetsutetsu seems impervious to Shoto's ice and fire. In the fourth round, Jiro uses her Quirk to scan for the Class 1-B students but her team falls into their trap.
Bakugo makes an uncharacteristic move. In the final battle, Izuku tries to stay focused in the face of Monoma's taunts. Ochaco's group struggles against the 1-B team's coordinated attack.
The teachers allow the match to continue. As Mineta and Ashido fight in tandem to overwhelm their opponents, Monoma attempts to copy Izuku's Quirk. Izuku tries to understand his Quirk's newest aspect. Amid troubling news of a Villain attack in Deika City, the UA students undergo media training to learn how to give interviews befitting of Heroes. Dabi demands that Hawks prove his loyalty to the League of Villains.
Shoto, Izuku and Bakugo meet up with Endeavor to begin their internship. Having cracked the code hidden in the book Hawks gave him, Endeavor realizes the internship's true purpose and decides to mentor his interns directly. Ryukyu holds a welcome party for interns Ochaco, Tsuyu and Nejire. Selkie sends her a request to team up and track down an elusive smuggling vessel. When Fuyumi excitedly proposes inviting the interns to the Todoroki house for dinner, Endeavor ruefully thinks back on some difficult family memories.
Having taken Natsuo as a hostage, an obsessed Villain from Endeavor's past attacks him and the interns after they leave the Todorokis' dinner party. The students suit up and head outside for their first lesson of the new year. Meanwhile, Aizawa and Present Mic try to communicate with an old friend. Two months prior, the gargantuan Gigantomachia suddenly appears before Shigaraki and the other Villains, attacking them out of loyalty to All For One.
The Villains there greet them with a fight. Twice watches in horror as the puppets try to kill Toga. Desperate to save her, he overcomes his traumatic past and unleashes a formidable power.
Spinner tries to fight his way through Hanabata's loyal followers. Re-Destro overpowers Shigaraki, causing him to recall painful childhood memories. Awakened by the bitter memories of his past, Shigaraki proves more than a match for Re-Destro. Gigantomachia hurries to the scene of the conflict. Aiming to gain an even more terrible power, Shigaraki enters a painful four-month-long sleep.
The students show All Might how much they've improved. Call Netflix Netflix. After he saves a bully from a Villain, a normal student is granted a superpower that allows him to attend a high school training academy for Heroes. Watch all you want.

So, ergo, it would be five seasons later and this would be season That was the thinking. Heroes ran from to , so had it continued airing, they would actually be on their 10th season in In other words, even the loyal viewer has missed all of this. That's the point. You're somewhat on equal footing. That's exactly the point. The idea is that for the loyal viewer of the original series, we want to honor them and they are rewarded for having been loyal fans of the show by seeing all kinds of things inside the show that other people may not see.
There are tons of Easter eggs, but it was really important to me and to the network. It was never an argument. It just seemed like the obvious thing.
