Each individual, no matter what his or her situation in life is, they are separate but equal. This concept of the dignity and worth of the individual is of overriding importance in democratic thought. Democracy gives each individual that is apart of it's cause dignity, and worth. However, in a Democracy, a group of people who made the majority of a choice subordinate, or don't take into account the choices of a few others interests because most of the population favor a decision.
This causes those few people to be forced to do something, whether they want to or not, but the majority of the population agrees with it as individuals, many of these people make up the laws and decisions in the society.
Worth of the individual is important because if we didn't have this concept as a part of democracy, nothing would be the same. The people would not have the power to do much.
For it is only the few who can acquire a sense of worth by developing and employing their capacities and talents. The majority prove their worth by keeping busy. Every person should must be free to develop as fully as they wish. Majority will not always make the best or right decisions — but in a democracy their choices can improve and change over time. Compromise is a way or reaching majority agreement.
Not all are good or necessary. Democracy does require that each individual be as free as possible without interfering with the freedom of others.
Democratic government works to find the balance between individual freedom and government authority. Every citizen also has responsibilities that they should fulfill to improve the quality of their government and community. Individuals, not the government, decide what to make, how to make it, at what price to sell it, and whether to buy it.
Government involvement in the economy is aimed at protecting both the public and private enterprise.
